1. Public School Funding in Montana is at an inadequate level. SS* The 2025 legislation passed the STARS Act to increase new teachers pay and help with recruitment. The “future ready payment” rewards districts for each student that receives a certain number of dual enrollment or trades-based courses prior to graduation that could possibly generate more funding for public schools. I support an excellent public experience for children whose parents choose for their children to attend public schools. Parents should be welcomed to be involved and aware of what is being taught in their child’s school
2. Parents should have greater freedom to choose how and where their children are educated, including options such as education savings accounts, tax credits, vouchers, or other school-choice mechanisms. SS
