Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Pubic Schools in Montana are overfunded: Support
2. Pubic Schools in Montana are underfunded: Strongly Oppose
3. Pubic Schools in Montana are adequately funded: Strongly Support
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: Strongly Support
5. Montana should allow public charter schools: Strongly Support
6. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: Strongly Support
7. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: Strongly Support
8. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: Strongly Oppose* My choices above are referring to overloaded administrative costs, not teacher wages. The valued teachers instructing our children deserve higher wages, as they are of prime importance in influencing young minds. Montana children need to come first before teacher union agendas. I believe teachers should have a choice in joining a teachers union in making Montana a Right to Work state. The union dues deducted from their pay could be used to help feed the families of teachers. I believe parents of children in tax-payer funded government schools deserve classroom transparency in the curricula being taught to their children. Reciprocity in accepting teaching certificates issued in other states would enable qualified and excellent teachers to help fill the teacher shortage. History has shown that throwing money at the public schools system has not improved the quality of education.
9. Income taxes in Montana are too high: Strongly Support
10. Property taxes in Montana are too high: Strongly Support
11. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: Strongly Support
12. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: Strongly Support
13. Global warming is a problem requiring increased regulation: Strongly Oppose
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: Support
15. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: Strongly Oppose* We are responsible for being good stewards of our state natural resources. I am strongly in favor of clean air and natural environment.. However, heavy- handed environmental regulations have rendered a heavy blow to the timber industry on which many families have depended. Our forests need to be properly managed to help prevent forest fires that destroy the natural beauty and wildlife that people come here to enjoy, and choke our air with polluting smoke. Changes in the climate have been a fact of geologic history since the Earth was created. I am for limited government and reigning in administrative agency regulations that create unconstitutional regulatory laws under which people are required to obey, without consent of the governed.
16. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: Strongly Support
17. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: Strongly Oppose
18. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: Strongly Support
19. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: Oppose
20. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): Strongly Oppose
21. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): Strongly Oppose
22. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): Strongly Oppose
23. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): Strongly Oppose
24. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: Strongly Oppose
25. The Montana Constitution should be amended to ban abortion: Strongly Support
26. Infanticide (infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. Strongly Support
27. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: Strongly Support* All human life begins at conception, is precious, and needs to be protected.
28. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: Strongly Oppose
29. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: Strongly Support
30. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: Strongly Oppose
31. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: Strongly Oppose
32. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the recent legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: Strongly Oppose* The Supreme Court got it wrong in their unconstitutional 2015 Obergefell decision that redefined marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. Any deviation from that union goes against nature and nature's God. My position is any medical professional that administers puberty blockers or "gender change" procedures of any type on minors is guilty of child abuse and is punishable as such.
