1. Public Schools in Montana are overfunded: O
2. Public Schools in Montana are underfunded: O
3. Public Schools in Montana are adequately funded: S
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: SS
5. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: SS
6. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: SS
7. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: SO* We need to ensure curriculum transparency in public schools. We need school choice to stop the secular state's monopoly on education.
8. Income taxes in Montana are too high: S
9. Property taxes in Montana are too high: SS
10. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: S
11. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: SS
12. Climate Change is a problem requiring increased regulation: SO
13. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: S
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: SO* We need to unleash Montana energy independence. The government should not destroy our energy security to reduce global CO2 emissions by a miniscule amount, causing energy prices to spike, and the economy to tank. We need to simply cut property taxes. A large reason property taxes are currently so high is because the logging, mining and energy production industries in the state have declined, leaving residential property to take it's place in the tax base. We need to turn this trend around. My opponent (Tony Brockman) voted AGAINST the special session to cut property taxes. He also introduced a bill (HB530) that would force counties & cities to increase property taxes for certain bureaucratic, unelected organizations -including one that he is a board member of (Flathead County Economic Development Authority).
15. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: SS* Online school and mask mandates in school were awful policies back during COVID. My opponent (Tony Brockman) voted against pulling SB450 from committee to be voted on. SB450 was a bill to provide for conscientious vaccine exemptions.
16. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: SO
17. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: SS
18. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: O
19. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): O
20. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): O
21. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): SO
22. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): SO
23. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: SO
24. The Montana Constitution should be amended to allow abortion: SO
25. Infanticide (the killing of infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. SS
26. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: SS* We need to take what we can get when it comes to limiting abortion past the status quo, as an example, I think a 6-week restriction is better than a 15-week restriction, as a legislator I will support the 15-week limitation because it's better than the status quo which is at around 23 weeks. In order to get real progress in getting Pro-Life legislation to stick on the books and not get struck down in court we NEED judicial reform, that is why judicial reform is one of my top priorities to get done next session. I will support making judicial elections more transparent, defunding far-left judges and impeaching far-left judges in order to destroy the corrupt, radically liberal, judicial oligarchy. My opponent (Tony Brockman) voted AGAINST HB464 (The Judicial Transparency Act). This bill would've allowed judge candidates to file with a party, and it would greatly help defeat the far-left judges since they win primarily because they have more money or incumbency factor. As an example in the 2022 MT State Supreme Court race between Ingrid Gustafson and James Brown, Brown only received 46% of the vote, yet between Zinke & Rosendale in the congressional races they received 53% of the statewide vote. We need Republicans in the legislature who understand this reality and will fight TOOTH AND NAIL against the far left judiciary, instead of voting to defend the very judges that are responsible for the deaths of thousands of Montanan children every year.
27. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: SO
28. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: SS
29. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: SO
30. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: SO
31. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: SO* We need to push the Overton Window back to a reasonable point by winning big and passing consequential legislation, conservatives have been losing for decades and now a sizeable portion of the population believes it's "stunning and brave" for a little kid to be castrated and forced to live a life of delusion and regret. We need to step up and stop our country and state from backsliding towards this horrendous ideology ASAP. The nuclear family has been proven to be the best way to raise children throughout history and this needs to be taken into account when making decisions and setting priorities as a legislator. The same issue of the far-left judiciary and the actions that need to be taken in regards to them apply to this issue too.
