Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Pubic Schools in Montana are overfunded: S
2. Pubic Schools in Montana are underfunded: SO
3. Pubic Schools in Montana are adequately funded: O
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: SS
5. Montana should allow public charter schools: S
6. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: SS
7. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: SS
8. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: SO* We need to get back to basics. Reading is the most important. Handwriting is not being emphasized and Math is the key to teaching problem solving. Without these three basic skills our students are not getting the education that we taxpayers are paying for. Parents send their kids to school for 8 hours and through the planned-demic the students were able to do the sent home worksheets in 1/2 hour to an hour. Seems like a lot of wasted time in our current school classrooms. We need our kids at home to have more family time. We need to not advance students that are not at the level for advancement. Levels of skill would be a better system than age groups being in classrooms. This would have our students progress in a positive way through their education experience and their weak areas would get more attention by personalizing and recognizing their needs. We need to allow each student to go to the best school of their family's choice, based on their individual personality and needs. Some need the one on one of home schooling, some need a religious school setting and others may do just fine in public school. This needs to be the parents' choice not the government's choice. Funding should follow the student. All students in this system would get school choice not just the "rich kids." This would allow competition in schools and would force educators to be the best they can be. Public schools should be one of the options of choice, let's make them one of the better choices. I'll fight against what is being taught in public schools that hurt the family, individualism and patriotism. I will support local decisions that are parent guided and not teacher union driven. I know that education is not supposed to be indoctrination, though we are on that path. BACK TO THE BASICS - READING, WRITING AND ARITHMATIC - then send the kids home.
9. Income taxes in Montana are too high: S
10. Property taxes in Montana are too high: SS
11. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: S
12. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: SS
13. Global warming is a problem requiring increased regulation: SO
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: SS
15. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: SO* Property tax is mostly collected to finance local school funds. The way this is spent needs to be more transparent to the taxpayers. Our state budget spends a lot of money on education. The question is, are we getting our tax dollar money's worth? An example would be: 30 students in a classroom X $7050.00 = $211,500.00 per classroom Let's say your elementary school has 10 classrooms. 10 X $211,500.00 = $2,115,000.00 per school Let's say your city/town has 10 elementary schools. 10 x $2,115,000.00 = $21,150,000.00 then we'll divide that by number of households in your district. MY CONSTITUENTS JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU SPEND THIS MONEY. Regulations are what drive up the cost of all projects that have government involvement. Communities could do EVERY project cheaper and better than a government regulated project. I know regulations hurt our state budgets and we need to look closer at these and get rid of many of them.
16. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: SS* I can't ask an employee about their personal lives. I can't discriminate who walks into my business for other disabilities. What makes this illness any different? I fight for LIBERTY every day. My decisions on vaccinations are my choices. It is no one's business how I chose to be healthy. I know that this vaccine mandate is unconstitutional and WRONG.
17. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: SO
18. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: SS
19. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: O
20. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): SS
21. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): SS
22. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): SS
23. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): SO
24. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: SO
25. The Montana Constitution should be amended to ban abortion: SS
26. Infanticide (infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. SS
27. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: SS* I know that abortion is murdering an innocent child. That child has every right to be born, under ALL circumstances that conception happened. The child should not get the DEATH SENTENCE for an act of rape or incest. I know that GOD will heal every mother from the trauma of rape and incest if she will trust in HIM and give her child the opportunity for life. I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE! Abortion has an emotional and psychological effect on both parents that choose abortion. Too many learn this in the aftermath of their choice to kill their child. I will support any legislation that helps educate women on this very matter. I do not support federal or state funding for abortion and am impaled that the federal government funds Planned Parenthood. This is absolutely an abomination of the use of our tax dollars. This needs to STOP. I'm an advocate for adoption. I have three adopted grandchildren. This needs to be our focus for children whose parents aren't able to raise them. There are too many parents wanting children who aren't physically able to naturally be parents. They are not getting this opportunity because too many children are being aborted. I support all legislation that puts children in loving homes. I pray for the day that ROE vs WADE is reversed, and Montana can be a sanctuary state for the child in the womb. This decision couldn't come soon enough for me and the people of MONTANA who support LIFE.
28. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: SO
29. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: SS
30. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: SO
31. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: SO
32. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the recent legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: SO* Sexual Orientation being defined as "an attraction to someone""(Wikipedia) is not a CLASS of people. Gender identity defined as a "person's sense of one's own self"(Wikipedia) is not a CLASS of people. Most people don't care who you're attracted to or who you think you are. Laws that would require others to ask these questions will only hurt those asking for them because those who don't want to know now HAVE TO KNOW. I like or dislike people for how they act, treat others with respect, the talents they bring to the workforce, etc. Everything else is unimportant. All people are created equal, and no one should have special privileges because of how they personally interpret who they think they are. Marriage is given to man by GOD. And HE said it is between a biological Male and a Female. I follow GOD's Laws and so should we in our earthly laws. Going against His word is a violation of GOD'S direction given to us. I didn't make His rules of life, He did. I, as a Christian will defend His word and will be a witness of His Truth. When two of the same sex want to join in UNION, it should not be defined as a marriage. These decisions are the responsibility of the state not the federal government.
